Watercolor Classes: Spring Series
Wednesdays ǀ 4:30-6:30pm ǀ Ages 16 & up
Troy Historical Society Member: $40/class or $200/6-class series

Artist and art teacher Megan Swoyer guides students in using a variety of watercolor techniques to create a variety of colorful spring scenes. No experience is necessary; all supplies will be provided. Spring Watercolor classes are geared toward ages 16 and up. Scroll down to register or call 248-524-3570.

April 3: Poppy Pop! This workshop showcases three pretty poppies in a trio of gorgeous colors. Students will work wet-into-wet and wet-into-dry.
April 10: Alstroemeria Adoration Put the pretty alstroemeria in the spotlight. We’ll work from photos of alstroemeria growing in a small landscape as we capture their pretty petals and dainty leaves.
April 24: Savoring Succulents Those colors and how they merge! Who doesn’t love the blues, pinks, greens, and yellows of the perky succulent. Try two paintings of the succulent, one a study and one an impressionistic approach to a few planted in pretty pottery.
May 1: Cosmic Cosmos Catch the bud, small bloom, leaf, and big bloom on paper of the magnificent, light-and-airy cosmos.
May 8: Bachelor Button Beauty Those blues, those perky petals! This workshop showcases the cheerful cornflower. We’ll try a few techniques as we capture different greens in their stems and several values of blue, from light-light to deep-and-rich.
May 15: The Pleasing Plover and the Sweet Sanderling Let’s head to the beach (in our heads, anyway) as we portray sweet little shorebirds. We’ll attempt two paintings in this workshop that focuses on water, sand, and birdlife.
