What are the different ways you can record your story for future researchers? You might not see your day-to-day life particularly noteworthy, but we promise that it is historic! Come see pieces from our archive that tell the story of someone’s daily life and help paint a picture of what life was like 100 or even 200 years ago. Come get inspired to preserve your story!
What to Expect
When you arrive, head inside the side gate of the Main Building and turn right at the Gazebo towards the Old Troy Church (large white building with a steeple). Go inside the Old Troy Church to check-in or purchase your ticket. If there are multiple people in your group, please be sure to arrive with your whole party and check-in under the name of the person who purchased the tickets.
The presentation will begin with announcements by a Village staff member and then the presenter will give a 45-60 minute talk with time for questions at the end. Some presenters may have a small display of related artifacts or be selling their book related to the talk.
Inside the Church are pews and standard wooden chairs to sit during the presentation. The building has a ramp entrance and accessible bathrooms inside. Assisted listening devices are available, please ask a staff member if you would like to use one.
At the end of your program, you will exit through the gate on the side of the Main Building. We have green signs to help direct your path.
