Frequently Asked Questions
- I missed my time slot! Can I still come to the Open House? Yes! Please do. The time slots are helpful to let us know how best to prepare for all of our guests. You are welcome to register online again for a different time slot, or you can register in person when you arrive.
- I registered online, but I have friends/family that want to join. We can get them checked in at the check in table inside the main building even if they don't get a chance to register online. The more the merrier!
- Can I bring a stroller or a wagon? Yes! We have a paved sidewalk throughout the Village. You are welcome to take the strollers and wagons inside the buildings (each one has a ramp entrance), and we ask that you are mindful about the spaces inside when driving the stroller or wagon through.
- Can I bring my dog? Only service animals are allowed at the Village. We strive to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable, so please leave your pets at home.
- How long does it take to go through the event? The average time to go through our Open House events is about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on how much you and your group are engaging with the historic buildings!
- Do you have quiet spaces to go if one of my group members needs a sensory break? Yes! Inside the Caswell House on the main floor or upstairs at the Parsonage. You can also ask us when you arrive - THV Staff and volunteers are ready and prepared to try and help accommodate your needs!
- Do you accept cash donations for this free event? Yes! Please! No payment is required or expected to attend this event, but we are happy to take donations. $15 to $20 is the suggested donation for a family (or $5 to $7 per person in your group). You can donate online by clicking here. We will also happily accept cash donations in person at the check in table, or as an add-on with your purchase from our gift shop! Donations help us keep programs like our Mid-Winter Break Open House free for everyone!
