What to Expect
When you arrive, please check in at the gate on the side of the Main Building (the large brick building). A staff member will be standing with a clipboard to check you in and direct you to where Museum Yoga will be taking place that day. The parking lot and sidewalks into the Village are paved, but Museum Yoga will take place on a grassy area on the Village grounds.
The class will begin promptly at the start time, and will be led by professional instructors from Explore Yoga studio in Troy.
If you have accessibility questions, please click here to visit our accessibility page or contact us at info@thvmail.org and we will be happy to help!
At the end of your program, you will exit through the same gate on the side of the Main Building (the large brick building). We’ll have green and white signs to direct your path!
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to bring my yoga mat? Yes, you need to bring your own yoga mat.
- Is there water available during class? No, but you may bring a water bottle. On super warm days, we will fill a cooler with water to refill your water bottle.
- Can I get a refund if a miss class? Due to the cost of producing the program and transaction fees, we can only offer a 50% refund up your request. We do not offer full refunds for this program unless we (the Village) cancels or reschedules the program. We would also be happy to convert your registration into a tax-deductible donation and send a receipt upon request.
- Is there still class when it is raining? Yes! Museum Yoga will take place outdoors as long as the weather allows, so please dress accordingly. If it is raining, we will move the class inside the Niles-Barnard House.
- Do you have to be 18 years or older to attend the program? No, but this program is recommended for adults and seniors. Those under 18 years old will need permission from their legal guardian to attend.
- Will I be able to explore the rest of the Village? Yes! Museum Yoga takes place while we are Open Late to the public. Registration for Museum Yoga includes General Admission to the Village on the day of class so that you can explore the Village before class. We will be open from 10am to 7pm on Thursdays in June, July, and August.
- Didn’t Museum Yoga used to be free? Yes, Museum Yoga used to be free with an option for donation-based admission. We were able to offer this program for free because we had grant funding to support and cover the cost of the program. Unfortunately, that grant funding is no longer available for this program. We look forward to Museum Yoga, and we know you do too, so we wanted to make sure we still could offer it. Your registration fee for Museum Yoga will go directly to paying the instructors of the classes.
