The City of Troy and Troy Historic Village will be celebrating America’s 250th Birthday on July 1 at Jeanne M. Stine Community Park. Peruse the Troy Farmer’s Market beginning at 3pm and then head over to the Great Hall for a short ceremony with a brass band at 5:30pm. After the ceremony, cake will be served, and a Summer Concert featuring an Elton John Tribute Band will begin at the Troy Community Foundation Performing Arts Stage at 7pm. Those coming to celebrate America’s Birthday will also have the opportunity to play games, make crafts, and learn how to create their own time capsule at home.

Family-friendly entertainment includes:
- At Jeanne M. Stine Community Park
- 3pm - 7pm: Troy Farmer's Market
- 3pm - 8pm: Food trucks on site
- 5:30pm -8pm: Make a craft, play lawn games, take a photo at the selfie station, get exclusive City of Troy swag, learn how to create your own time capsule at home, and so much more!
- At the Great Hall (located under the Rink's pavilion)
- 8am – 10pm: Daily for roller skating or blading. Bring your own skates, rentals not available.
- 5:30pm - 6:30 pm: Live brass band begins 5:30pm followed by Speeches by Mayor Ethan Baker & Lt. Todd R. Wodzinski, US Navy/Ret Commander VFW Post 4037 and other commemorative speeches
- 6:30pm: Birthday Cake serve
- Troy Community Foundation Performing Art Stage
- 7pm – 8:30pm: Live Music from Captain Fantastic (Elton John Tribute). Bring your own chairs, blankets, and umbrellas, and come early to claim a spot!
What to Expect
RESTROOMS
Indoor restrooms are located inside Troy Community Center and at the Rink. We’ll also have a Porta John right outside the Market.
SKATE & PLAY
Whether it’s blades or boards, Stine Park is home to both the Rink and Troy Skate Park. Both are open and free to use. Bring your own roller skates, roller blades, scooters, or skateboards (rentals not available). PLEASE NOTE: No skateboards or scooters on the Rink. Helmets and pads are encouraged.

SHOP FROM LOCAL VENDORS
More than 20 Michigan vendors will be at the Troy Farmer's Market. Expect to find produce, baked goods, and artisan products such as honey, oils, and more. Plus a coffee cart on site for a latte while you shop!
BRING CASH & A BAG
Most vendors take credit card, but cash is highly encouraged. There is not an ATM nearby. While some vendors may have bags to spare, please bring reusable bags.
COME HUNGRY
Food trucks will be on site from 3–8pm. Picnic tables are available throughout the park, or find some shade at the Great Hall or under the park shelter on the east side of the park.
SEATING
Seating at the concert is first-come, first-served. Bring blankets, chairs, and umbrellas to make your evening comfortable. Concerts will begin promptly at 7pm, so get there early to claim your spot!
ENJOY THE SHOW
All Summer Concerts are FREE and will be performed at the Troy Community Foundation Performing Art Stage. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors to Troy Community Center.
Parking and Directions
Celebrating America's 250th takes place at Jeanne M. Stine Community Park located at 241 Town Center Dr, Troy, MI 48084.
Limited parking is available just outside of Troy's Farmer's Market. If these lots are full, please park at Troy Community Center and either walk over to Jeanne Stein Park, or ride the Shuttle. Shuttle pick ups will be available from the Troy Community Center North Lot.
Additional parking is located at the Aquatic Center, 52-4 District Court, and throughout Civic Center campus. (Please note: no parking at Troy Racquet Club.)

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this event rain or shine? The Troy Farmer's Market is rain or shine and will only be cancelled in the event of extreme weather. The 250th Events and Concert will be moved indoors to Room 304/305 in the Troy Community Center if inclement weather is in the forecast. Alerts will be sent when this occurs. Sign up for Stine Park Alerts to receive text and/or email alerts such as weather announcements.
- Who is Captain Fantastic (Elton John Tribute)? The Captain Fantastic Detroit Band consists of Ron Foss on piano, Jo-Jo Moceri on drums, Larry Socha on guitar, Chris Bezas on bass, and Shellie Gambino on harmonies and percussion. Together, they will provide a fun night dedicated to Elton’s greatest hits.
