Come walk with us! Thursday evening walks are:
- FREE to attend
- A fun way to explore the great outdoors
- Geared toward fitness but often include some local history, too
- Great for walkers of all ages and levels of fitness—and many routes are canine-friendly!
September 5, 6pm: Sterling Heights Nature Center
42700 Utica Road, Sterling Heights (between Van Dyke & 18 Mile Road)
September is a great time of year to walk along the Clinton River! We’ll pick up the Clinton River Park Trail from the Sterling Heights Nature Center; turn left and follow the paved path along the river. Turn around at the Riverland Drive bridge for a total of 1 mile, or turn around at the back of Clinton River Heritage Park and head back for a total walk of 3 miles. Distance: 1 – 3 miles.
September 12, 6pm: Hawk Woods Nature Center
3799 Bald Mountain Road, Auburn Hills (south of Dutton Road)
Take a walk on the lovely nature trails of Hawk Woods. This nature trek takes us through forest, marsh, pond, and meadows on woodchip and boardwalk trails. Distance: 1 – 3 miles.
September 19, 6pm: Brinston & Milverton Parks
2262 Brinston Drive, Troy (east off John R., between Maple & Big Beaver)
Two parks in one walk! Meet at Brinston Park first; we can walk some of Brinston’s 18 acres, then take Milverton Road to Milverton Park and walk a lap around. Distance: approx. 2.2 miles
September 26, 6pm: Raintree Park
3775 John R. Road, Troy (between Wattles & Big Beaver)
It’s a walk in the woods! One of the five major Troy city parks, Raintree Park is half wooded and half open space. Paths are a mix of paved sidewalk and packed dirt trails. Distance: 1-2 miles.
