Musicians are welcomed at the arrangement and expense of the renting party. The Church has a vintage upright piano available for use, an electronic keyboard (upon request) and a sound system that plays CDs and/or iPods/MP3 digital music.
Yes, rental parties may rent tents, tables and chairs at their own expense. We can also provide a list of suggested vendors. Troy Historic Village management and the rental party will determine the schedule to set up and remove these items. There are 12 picnic tables in the Village available for use for your event.
The security deposit, less any charges for staff overtime, custodial service, or damages will be refunded within 4 weeks.
Decorations are permitted but must follow the guidelines provided in the rental agreement. Other decorations must be approved by the Troy Historic Village Director. All decorations must be removed on the date of the event. Custodial costs will be deducted from the deposit if Troy Historic Village staff disposes of flowers, decorations and other materials.
Note: Staples, pins, nails and adhesives are not permitted on or in any of the Village structures, including on church pews.
Call us at 248-524-3570 and ask for the business manager in charge of facilities rentals to schedule a tour and/or an appointment to reserve a date for your event. Rental parties must meet with a Troy Historic Village representative, sign an agreement, and pay a deposit to reserve their date.
Parking is free. Two on-site parking lots accommodate 48 vehicles. Overflow parking with access to the Village is available along Lange Street (north side of the Village).
These items are not allowed. Guests may however, blow bubbles outside the buildings.
Rental parties who wish to use the Village for an outdoor reception are charged an additional hourly rate, including time for set-up and clean-up. Rental parties must use tents and furnishings from approved rental agencies and retain their own caterers. Alcohol is not permitted at these events unless the chosen caterer holds a valid Michigan Class C liquor license.
A list of local clergy, photographers, tent companies, florists and musicians can be provided to the rental party when a rental contract is signed. However, it is the responsibility of the rental party to obtain and coordinate these services.
The church accommodates 110 guests on cushioned pews, has restrooms and is heated and air-conditioned. The building was restored to its original layout as a Methodist Church and the Methodist community did not use a center aisle.
Bridal parties are asked to arrive dressed for their event. The front room of the Parsonage is provided to the bride and her attendants before the ceremony but may not be used as a dressing room. Our Pioneer Room in the main building may be used for dressing for an additional fee.
